XTC – A People’s History

XTC – A People’s History is the story of one of Britain’s most influential post-punk bands as told in the words of over 400 fans.

Compiled by David Marx, XTC – A People’s History will be an oral history of XTC containing memories of seeing XTC in concert, of meeting one or more of the band’s members, of working with them or of covering their songs.

Did you see XTC in concert? Did you see them on television? Meet them on the street or at the stage door? Work with them? We want to hear your XTC memories, whether that’s a song you love or an album you cherish.

Every submission will be acknowledged, and as we approach publication, we’ll let you know if your story is going to be included in the final book.

Stories of around 400 words in length are ideal. If you’re sending us a gig memory, please include the date of the show if you can. If you’re sending photos, we’d like them to be as high resolution as possible (at least 300KB) and please attach them as separate jpegs.

XTC – A People’s History will be published in hardback by Spenwood Books of Manchester, UK on 26 June 2026.

To share your XTC memory, please write to David at XTCFanBook@outlook.com.
